When was the last time you sat down and worked a jigsaw puzzle? We finally started my son's baseball puzzle yesterday that he got for Christmas. The kids really love doing them, as long as I do them with them. We found that this one is our favorite kind of puzzle. It's called White Mountain. There's so much detail and so much going on in it, that we each pick a different part of the puzzle to work on, then combine our parts and start working together. We also have the Presidents and Historic Pennsylvania ones.
It's so funny how after a while of working on a puzzle, the kids start to get so weird! My youngest two stopped for a while to dance to the music on a Finding Nemo book. My oldest was saying the weirdest comments back to them. I even found myself singing old commercials and other things that I'm too embarrassed to admit to.

I love doing puzzles!
In my parents house when we were little, it was tradition to always have a puzzle going during the winter months. My dad had a special piece of plywood just for the puzzle that we could put on top of the table. Then when we weren't busy with it, we could slide the whole thing under the couch! Although we're all out of the house now, my dad still usually has one going and the little kids are getting into it now too!
We're big into puzzles, too. I'm kicking myself for not buying one at Target today.
I haven't done very many puzzles in my lifetime. This sounds like a great idea.
No.2 got a big football puzzle for Christmas - we haven't done that yet either! Maybe I'll fetch it out over Easter? x
I love that part of doing a puzzle: the brain 'delirium' that sets in after sitting and staring at pieces for too long! LOL :D
What a fun puzzle. I just LOVE doing jigsaw puzzles. But we haven't done one in a really, really long time (too many small children!).
That sounds kind of fun. We got rid of all the puzzles we had when we moved. I'm not sure why, I suppose because our oldest wasn't that interested at the time.
But it sounds kind of fun! I used to love doing them with my grandma when I'd stay with her. Good memories.
That's a grerat big puzzle - very cool. We have one going right now on the dining room table (here at the lake) - the kids love doing them!
Have a good evening Maria - see ya - Kellan
Ahhhh... four hours with the kids doing a puzzle... sounds wonderful!
You have hands down, won the mother of the year award!
That's a huge puzzle to do with kids! I enjoy them, and some of the kids do, but Micah just destroys things and we all get too frustrated to try.
We like to do puzzles now and then too..but wow, that one looks like a humdinger...lol...:-)glad you guys had a fun time doing it!
I love to do puzzles. My parents always used to have a 1000 piece puzzle in the works!
sounds like fun times!
We love doing puzzles here. I think it is a great mind feeder. Keeps the brain active. All four of my children really enjoy doing them. My daughter and my 3 year old REALLY enjoy it. My daughter is putting together 1,000 piece puzzles by herself. She has a corner of her room set up just for her puzzles. My 3 year old will take his 24-48 cound puzzles in her room and set on the floor create his puzzle.
Puzzles will keep my 9 and 3 year old quite for hours....
I agree, doing puzzles is much better than video games all of the time. I used to love them. It sounds like an old fashioned family night!
I love to do puzzles, but we haven't done any except the kid ones. Until Peanut gets a little older, it's not very easy to start something that has to sit around for a day or two. I'm looking forward to being able to do them again. I have many just waiting to be put together!
Puzzles are a favorite of ours, too.
It looks like it was a lot of fun. :)
I've kind of shied away from big jigsaws till the kids get a bit older, (messes and lost pieces) but good old fashioned fun is great! We do smaller ones, big pieced floor puzzles. You actually get to relate to each other and relax and be silly! My kids love puzzles so hopefully in a few years we'll be ready for this.
LOVE puzzles...it's a great family activity!
That is a great puzzle! We have puzzles for all age ranges here, from the wooden with the pegs to the time-consuming 1000 piece puzzle. You are right though it is a great way to spend time together and away from the tv. Growing up we would always sneak a piece into our pocket because we always wanted to put in the last piece. Silly!

I have great memories of doing complicated puzzles with my parents over Christmas Break as a child. I can't wait until my girls are old enough.
